about

'IT'S TIME' features the legend that is Roy Ayers. The track, which wouldn’t sound out of place on a
D’Angelo album, has Roy Ayers accompanying Luke’s piano and organ playing on vibraphone.
Ayers also raps and lends his signature scatting over a lazy, almost southern funk groove, helped
along by bass legend, Pino Palladino (D’angelo, The Who, John Mayer).
Luke’s lead keyboard melody seamlessly blends into Roy Ayers vibraphone parts in the chorus, and
the switch up half way during the track is an unexpected delight, with a stand out guitar solo played
this time by Mike Brown.
After honing his skills as a premiere session musician for a who’s who of multi award winning artists,
'IT'S TIME' is Luke Smith stepping out of their shadows with some great jazz compositions, his
signature playing styles, and a little help from a handful of extremely talented musicians friends.
